Accutane® was a prescription medication designed to fight acne. Discontinued in 2009, Accutane® has been linked to many different inflammatory diseases, including Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and ulcerative colitis. These diseases are life-changing diseases and can cause severe discomfort for afflicted persons.

Roche, the manufacturers of Accutane®, have been found at fault in many legal cases for failing to inform consumers of the risks and dangers of Accutane®. Roche has also been accused of possessing evidence that usage of Accutane® could cause symptoms associated with IBD. Plaintiffs have won tens of millions of dollars in judgments against the company to date, including one plaintiff who was awarded more than $25 million after developing chronic ulcerative colitis while taking Accutane®.
