Immigration Law

Applicants may be deemed inadmissible on health related grounds, which include having a communicable disease of public health significance, lack of immunization for certain diseases, or those who have psychological problems that might render them dangerous to others or to themselves.

All health related grounds of inadmissibility may be waived for non-immigrant visas, and most may be waived for immigrant visas. An exception lies in cases where applicants are deemed to be drug abusers or addicts, in which case they are ineligible to receive immigrant visas or adjust status in the United States.
