B-1 Business Visitors

Business visitors are admitted for the period required to engage in their business on a B-1 visa. B-1 visitors are prohibited from working in the U.S.

B-2 Tourism Visitors

Those persons coming to the U.S. for pleasure may be granted a B-2 Visitor visa. Although visas may be granted for up to ten years, the period of admission is generally authorized for only six months for tourists. Visitor visa holders must be careful not to confuse the validity of the visa with the authorized period of stay granted upon admission.
