Immigration Law

The Visa Waiver Program permits travel to the U.S. for three months without obtaining a visa from 36 countries with very low overall denial rates. However, persons who have committed U.S. immigration violations in the past may still need to apply for a visitor visa.

Individuals who enter the United States through the waiver program may not apply for an extension, or change of status to other nonimmigrant categories in the United States. They must leave and obtain a new visa abroad. All individuals traveling to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must register with the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) at least three (3) days before departure.
